A quiet community and a river that rose
Valrico, once called Long Pond, took its current name in the 1880s. It had 37,895 people in 2020, and State Road 60 carries them about 14 miles west to Tampa. It is unincorporated, so Hillsborough County handles flood maps.
The Alafia kept rising after the storm passed. The county relayed a National Weather Service flood warning for the river from U.S. 301 to Lithia-Pinecrest Road and urged extreme precaution. The CDC warns that floodwater can carry human and livestock waste and hazardous material, so treat it differently from a clean pipe leak.

About this line: Dominion Water Damage is a free phone line, not a restoration company. It answers your call and connects you with an independent local water damage restoration company, which inspects, quotes and does the work, and which you pay directly. Companies may pay a referral fee. You never pay the line. See how the line works.
