A river town, and now a growing one
Ruskin takes its name from the English writer John Ruskin and sits on the north side of the Little Manatee River. Its population went from 17,208 in 2010 to 28,620 in 2020. It also hosts the National Weather Service office that covers Tampa Bay, the same office that tracks the storms below.
That office reported peak water levels generally 5 to 8 feet above the normal high tide line along the Hillsborough coast during Helene. Two weeks later, Milton sent the rivers up instead. So in Ruskin, ask where the water came from before anything else, because storm water and pipe water call for different handling.
Say you are in Ruskin and where the water came from.

About this line: Dominion Water Damage is a free phone line, not a restoration company. It answers your call and connects you with an independent local water damage restoration company, which inspects, quotes and does the work, and which you pay directly. Companies may pay a referral fee. You never pay the line. See how the line works.
